his main points are 1- call upon Allah alone, he doesn’t need intermediaries 2-“whoever imitates a people is of them” you are imitating the Christian’s! 3- not one sahabi called upon the prophet (peace be upon him) after his passing 4- what’s the reason to call upon the prophet (peace be upon him) 5- why are you opening the door to shirk 6- 1 ayah that mentions calling upon the prophet (peace be upon him) I didn’t start discussing with him, however I mentioned the Hadith of uthman bin hunayf, he said he did tawassul through the action of salah and wudu however when I mentioned why did he say “Ya Muhmmad” (peace be upon him) he said “Allah Hu a’lam I don’t know” he’s a pretty respectful dude, gifted me a miswak aswell lol. However he’s pretty illiterate when it comes to saying of scholars. He just memorized a bunch of ayat and Hadith to fit his agenda
Don't know the exact quote or authenticity but I heard that imam Ali said: everytime I argue with a fool, I lose Meaning the fool always thinks he has won. So what is the point? I suggest you don't bother and the only thing is to protect the sunni awaam by speaking to them directly or providing them with links to relevant videos etc and leave it at that. The guy himself can be ignored
Awaam should avoid heretics but if they insist, then say: ok, I can get your questions answered. Let's go to my scholar and you can ask what you want. If they refuse, say: you wanted answers, right? So why aren't you coming?
it is not your responsibility if you are not an aalim. if at all you want to deal with him, ask him to give you a list of five or ten questions. specific and objective qs. post them here. you can copy those answers, print and share with him.
asalamu alykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh ill make this short, there is a wahabi in my locality who has been spreading some lies to my friends about sufis and how they commit shirk and what not. my friend alerted me of this and i messaged him a couple times, however he just kept copy and pasting ayat from quran al kareem saying "istighata is shirk" and how my friend commits shirk! there is a youth program at a masjid nearby in about 2 days and i am thinking about going in person to catch him and (NOT DEBATE) but rather discuss with him about the matter. He is very ignorant however, not even knowing of imam subbki RH when i mentioned him. i even asked him about the 3 conditions salafis put for istighata and he was not aware of this. This is common where i am, bunch of wahabis not knowing why or what they follow. im conflicted if i should discuss with him or what, i am worried i may blunder aswell. EDIT: if it matters, im not arguing on the permissiblity of istighata (although i believe it is mustahab) i just want to prove it is not shirk, you can call us bidati but when you call us kafir the takfir will fall back on the one who gave it!
