This excerpt from Fatāwa Ridawiyyah is relevant in these times when some fake "barelwis" are tarnishing our imām's name by supporting Modi's Hindu Government & the oppressive Indian Army,

Even if one is enlisted in a Muslim ruler's Army, it is in no way permissible to fight against those Muslims who are not inducted into the army.

However, it is permissible to fight against rebels, the Khawarij, and their likes.

As for the Khilafat Committee members, whose statement is: 'We are Indian nationalists/nation-worshippers ; even if the Turks attack India, it is our duty to raise swords against them' — such people, even under the name of the Khilafat Committee, are disbelievers and outside the fold of Islam."
