I don't know why people in the west and also back home know about him but are not very enthusiastic about him. He was a khalifa of Ala Hazrat and a pioneer in the dawah field even in the 30s, 40s and 50s when the wahabis didn't even start earning oil money. He is more celebrated in Singapore and Africa in my personal observation. Even Asrar Rashid (as well as us lazy, duniya afflicted common folk) should be himself learning from his methodology and strategies and promoting him as a role model for upcoming desi Sunni scholars, debaters, orators, Islamic social workers of English speaking backgrounds or environments. I'm very surprised no one has used this opportunity to promote Allama Abdul Aleem Siddiqui. He has some fantastic works and did great work in the Dawah field. There's a book on his conversation with Bernard Shaw. He has book on the codification of Islam, how to give Dawah, the elementary teaching of Islam, on the status of women, on Science etc... Would have been the opportune moment to promote him.
Brothers who are close to Indian & Pakistani Ulama should Absolutely share this video to them, it's the perfect opportunity to bridge this gap between them & the west. I personally tried my best to Clip and Introduce Shaykh Asrar to Desi social media. Shaykh asrar reiterates the point that we should be proud of our scholarly heritage. He mentions some excellent works that should be translated and contextualized, like shamse baazighah, Al nibraas & works of Abdul Hakeem siyalkoti. He introduces Desis to New Age Atheism & provides guidance on how to refute it. ان شاء الله Gone are the days where the masses get bamboozled with the most inferior of minds like joker Nalaik & Dr Israr.
