You can refer to these threads for more details (even though few threads are specifically on praying in haramayn, the ruling is generic): https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/shaykh-asrar-on-praying-behind-the-imams-of-haramayn.14243/ (see Allama Saeed Kazmi's fatwa in pdf) https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/prayer-behind-imams-in-haramayn.16328/ https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/tiers-of-deobandis-today.16330/ https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/shaykh-asrar-q-a.15045/page-3#post-74189 https://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/jumuah-in-haramayn.15442/
Yes the Masjid is more than 6 kms away from where I will be https://maps.app.goo.gl/77HJqhfnPpwipgC38 I've heard and I suspect most likely the Masjid is of the Deos. But I will still need to confirm once and also find if there is a Sunni Masjid there. Honestly it'll be a hassle because HP has less population of Muslims but let's see
another important thing most muftis ignore is urban planning and growth of cities. i.e. the geographical and demographical contexts. when we say bareilly was a city in 1921 (i.e. when alahazrat passed away) and then speak of the same bareilly in 2021, a hundred years later - there is whale of a difference. literally. while the city might have grown marginally in 500 years - it explodes exponentially in a few decades. so a number of markers in the fatawa of earlier ulama have to be adapted to the realities of our own age. ----- one of the earliest maps of uttar pradesh and showing bareilly, is this: very high resolution jpeg i have picked out a portion from the map (see right bottom corner) ==== the red circle is approximate area of bareilly in 1955 (i.e. 30 years after alahazrat) ==== today's bareilly is like this:
Okay, that makes everything clear Jazakallah Khair So I should just pray Zuhr if I don't find a Sunni Masjid anywhere in Dharamshala for the entire month? The reason I am afraid is because of the "leaving 3 Jumas = out of Islam" rule. Also, there are some Dargahs around maybe, but I will need to investigate them myself. If nothing works out, then I guess I don't have an option to pray Juma
The reason why we wouldn't pray behind them can be two: 1. Either the person has a kufri aqeedah and therefore that prayer is completely invalid 2. Or the person is in fact a Muslim but a faasiq (open sinner). And a person with bidah in their aqeedah is a type of faasiq. The ruling within the hanafi school (not all 4 schools) is that prayer behind such a person must be repeated (this is waajib) So with the deos, we aren't saying they definitely have kufri aqeedah. But even if they didn't, they would be termed as innovators and non sunnis. We wouldn't investigate every belief he holds as the fact that he recognises himself as under the deo school would be enough for us to judge by the apparent (and consider him to therefore be an innovator)
In simple words I am moving somewhere for a month (to be specific Dharamshala, HP), and the place I have to stay at has one Deobandi Masjid a few kms away What should I do for Jum'a? I've asked some people and watched a few videos and everyone says the ruling for that is to pray Zuhr at home, because Wahhabis and Deobandis their own prayer isn't accepted so praying behind them our prayer also won't be accepted. I will try to find Sunni Masjids nearby, but at the moment none shows up in Google Maps Another question I had stem out of this topic is this: Wahhabi, Deo have wrong Aqaaid, and we and Ala Hazat did not takfir everyone who calls themselves Wahhabi or Deobandi, because most normal public is just unaware of the blasphemies and kufr aqidahs, and I think many if not most Imam's of theirs also must be unaware of those things as they usually stay in their bubble So bearing that in mind, how can we be so sure that their prayer is not accepted Because if we believe that their prayer isn't accepted due to their aqidah, and we don't know their true aqidah, just that they associate themselves with those baatil firqas and are usually unaware of the core reasons why takfir was done on their early scholars? Wouldn't that be problematic because we're indirectly doing their takfir? Calling them gumraah would be more suitable, but we still deem gumraah as a momin. A similar example of this scenario would be people who do Istighatha (calling upon the saints directly) and call themselves true Sunnis and Sufis, and also claim to follow Ala Hazrat, but in their heart, they believe it's the saint who gives beside Allah. Because when doing Istighath, one has to believe that the Giver is Allah, even if we ask from the saint Please enlighten me on this topic and correct me where I am wrong. Jazakallah Khair
