In any case, intelligence agencies in India are neither bright/diligent nor discriminating; so they would rather name any organisation across the border as radical. Mufti Misbahi sahab is a victim of a hit job. Even if he would have tied his camel (and been careful with funding channel), he would still have been framed. There's no way to immunise/fire-proof oneself from such acts of deliberate malice. I have heard (and read in mainstream media) that UP govt has decided to deliberately target barelwi institutes, especially after they realised that this community was most readily aggravated by orchestrated acts of blasphemy by right-wing hindus. Ever since "I love Muhammad" show, administration has decided to brutalise sunnis and Mawlana Tauqeer Raza continues to languish in jail.
Navigating in india is becoming difficult for muslims. Muslims need to ensure that they maintain proper records for everything they have house, bank accounts, Identity documents etc. You need to ensure that you are compliant at all costs. Many people are stuck with issues such as spelling differences between their identity card and the bank accounts. Back in the days people would simply open up accounts with different spelling at different banks. And now its coming to haunt them. The saffron government is after us. The whole purpose of creating UPI and moving everything digital is to ensure they track every single movement. The tax system is getting stricter day by day in india and laws are constantly changing. You need to ensure you comply soonest possible. I feel really bad for mufti sahab but it should be a lesson for all organisations to tie their camel and ensure they are complaint with registration laws, banking regulations as well tax regulations, then leave the rest to Allah. Our people have this mentality that masajid are the house of Allah and therefore Allah will protect it. Gone are the days where ulama could simply buy a piece of land and build a darul uloom on it without any plan being approved. Now the requirements are much stricter. So many madrasssas and homes are being bulldozed due to this. Anyone who raises their voice to this the authorities ask "where is your approved building permit and plan?" Allah protect our Masajid and Madaris. I cant understand how dawate islami is a radical organization when it has so many branches in india itself. This is extremely worrying. So many book stores in india sell DI published books, I hope this issue doesn't affect sunnis who utilize dawate islami books etc.
They know their republic is in its death throes and are going after any shoddy case they can build against Muslims. They’re themselves on life support with their colonial masters, with the gora saab twisting the bjp and modi’s arm on their corruption’s corporate face - adani. by the look of world events and ground realities, it looks like another batwara is due and the republic won’t make it to its 100 yrs in 2047.
As a UK-based "preacher", Mufti sahab collects zakat for the idara (for girls) that he runs in UP, India. That's one of the main charges that ATS has levelled against him. He has been accused of "routing funds to various madrassas through his NGO, Raja Foundation, as well as through personal bank accounts." As someone based outside India and making regular zakat contributions to few madaaris in India, I know first-hand how challenging it is for the recipient institutes to receive foreign donations. They are deeply worried to be caught in charges like above. I personally know few of the larger institutes who reluctantly turn down zakat from Indian expats (despite their pressing needs) because they fear that authorities will hound them out.

If it were just a case of mismanaging money, then few may find this believable. But now the govt's game is clear. May Allah (azza wa jal) preserve Mufti sahab and safeguard him from this severe trial.
