Other than that, Urdu textbooks are ok as well. Urdu ki pahli kitab, Urdu ki doosri kitab, etc. I suggested periodicals as two birds, one stone.

I have been often told to learn urdu via practice and continuous reading. I am able to read basic books, albeit, I must stop every few sentences to look up new words. Can anyone suggest what kind of books I can read as a beginner to practice Urdu, and what kind of books I can advance with? JazakAllah
