Tadabbur.Space is Live - Feedback Welcome A while ago I posted here about a job platform idea for Muslims. That’s still in the pipeline, but meanwhile I’ve put together something broader. https://tadabbur.space A small, ongoing project to create a space for: Hand-picked articles, videos, podcasts, PDFs Useful AI tools (not endorsing all of them, just selected what seemed most practical after going through what’s available) Job portal – inshaAllah will be completed soon Visit the site: tadabbur.space Tell me what’s wrong, what’s missing, what needs to be corrected. If you spot anything questionable in terms of fiqh, aqidah, or language—let me know straight. I want it clean. If you want to contribute, suggest, correct, or build something related, message me. ----- This is just the start. Any feedback is welcome, especially the kind others avoid giving. BaarakAllahu feekum.
Like your ideas around the Muslim community services group. Just to give you some context, I'm not based in the UK or the West, so some of the legal and social dynamics you mentioned might differ for me. Also, I need to be upfront I’m not looking to make this a full-time commitment because I’ve got quite a few personal and professional commitments already on my plate. The goal here is to create a side project that can benefit the community without stretching myself too thin. If it grows to the point where more hands are needed, I'd definitely look at bringing in volunteers to help out. The idea of building a large NGO-type structure or a comprehensive organization is great, but honestly, I don't have the time or capital to take something like that on right now. My focus is really on creating a functional job platform first. If the platform gains traction, we can look at gradually adding features that serve the community in a meaningful way. For now, the initial app will be kept simple, with just two main tabs: one for job search where users can post and find job opportunities, and another for a resource feed. This feed will feature beneficial content like blogs, PDFs, and even relevant news links that can be helpful for the community. It’s a focused start, but one that I believe can bring real value. I do like the suggestion about keeping track of Islamophobic or discriminatory incidents, but that’s a feature I would consider only after the MVP proves successful. My primary goal is to establish a job portal for Muslims, similar to how platforms like Twitter/X or Chinas WeChat initially carved out space for their communities. If there's genuine interest and engagement, we can think about expanding it into a broader hub with added features down the line. Trust me, I already have at least five ideas in mind, but trying to launch everything at once would be chaotic and hard to maintain. About moderation, I hear you on concerns regarding people faking Muslim identities, like Qadianis or Ismailis, or even kafirs trying to infiltrate. That’s definitely tricky, especially if we're targeting Muslim demographics from different regions. Maybe a future solution could involve some form of Muslim identity verification, though that's a whole challenge in itself. On the legal front, I’m with you. I’ll be consulting a lawyer friend before getting too deep into UI design or implementation. I do like the idea of “Muslim Community Services” as a name, but I also think we need to offer tangible value so the average Muslim has a reason to install and use the app—starting with job opportunities. But again, I’m totally open to hearing more suggestions and brainstorming ways to make it more useful for everyone.
will add my 2 cents later, i've got a similar bunch of things on my mind too, for at least brainstorming with people who can do stuff as opposed to people like me. but first things first - be safe legally - talk to a legal expert regarding DEI or whatever is your country's version of it, i'm guessing you're in UK. i don't think a project for a job search app "for Muslims" will go very far, by very definition. a lot of kafirs and even some "Muslims" will try to tear it down. sorry not being pessimistic. i'm trying to suggest strategic thinking here and preparing for long term outcomes. firstly think of a lifelong organizational structure and bylaws for this venture and ensure that qadianis or ismailis don't veer anywhere near it. try to opt for a "Muslim community services" of some sort. that's what the zionists do in north america - "jewish community services" and then they help zionists with job searches and placements and all and institutionalize favoritism and nepotism etc., much like how the sangh has done in india. if you got time and money to contribute, think on a larger scale for a "Muslim interests group" or a "think tank" or a lobbying group of some sort as well. i'm sure you can work out the mechanics and details of it. if you're going to build a portal of some sort, try also to include a feature for a forum that can collect data from contributors in the community - on acts of Islamophobia and discrimination, harassments, by businesses, government officials etc., at the workplace, as well as away from it - the content will be generated by the community. you can then publish reports like these - https://www.ecaj.org.au/antisemitism-report/
I'm planning to use Flutter for development, as it allows us to create both mobile and web apps with minimal code adjustments. This cross-platform efficiency would speed up the process and make it easier to maintain consistency across different devices. For hosting, Firebase seems like a good choice due to its seamless integration with Flutter and the flexibility it offers. On the backend, a free Netlify account should suffice initially, as it provides adequate storage and resources to support an MVP. Would love to hear if anyone has experience with this setup or alternative suggestions!
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ I have this an idea for an app and website tailored to help Muslims in their job search while fostering a supportive community. Our reliance on mainstream job searching platforms often doesn't fully serve our specific needs. So, why not create something unique? The MVP Concept The initial version of the app is simple straight forward. 1. Community-Driven Job Listings. Any Muslim can post job openings they come across, whether from their IT company, a government ad in a newspaper, or a business looking for skilled workers. Posts will only require basic details like the job title, company name, role, and date of posting, ensuring it's quick and easy to share opportunities. 2. Built In Referral System. As more users register and share jobs, they can also choose to serve as potential references for listed roles. This way, a user interested in a position can contact others for guidance or to be referred before going for an interview. This system builds trust and boosts the chances of successful job placements. 3. Pro-Muslim News and Blogs. We will include a separate tab for content beneficial to the Muslim community, featuring pro-Muslim news, helpful articles, and blogs. This section aims to inform and empower users. Quality Control To ensure accuracy and reliability, all user posted jobs will be evaluated on the backend. Only verified posts will go live, offering users a trustworthy platform. This initiative is about creating opportunities while strengthening bonds within the community. It’s a simple MVP to start but holds great potential for growth, collaboration, and support. I’m eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Would this app address key job-seeking challenges for Muslims? Are there any features you'd like to see added? Looking forward to your valuable insights! JazakAllah Khair.
